Fingara International Cricket Academy, Sri Lanka’s most technologically advanced cricket coaching facility launched its second Cricket Acedemy with Colombo Cricket Club (CCC), one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and prestigious cricket playing clubs.

Fingara International Cricket Academy (FICA) was established in 2005 with the objective of providing talented Sri Lankan cricketers with a world- class training facility to achieve international standards. Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara two of the greatest cricketers who have left indelible marks in the history of the game, are delighted to have the opportunity of sharing their experiences with the students to impart the finer points of the game, develop their cricketing skills, and improving their performance as FICA Cricket Ambassadors.

The Ceylinco Fingara Cricket Team comprising of cricketers attached to the Fingara International Cricket Academy and the F&G Group emerged victorious in the Mercantile Premier League Knock- out Tournament recently. The team comprised of Sri Lanka Test and ODI Cricketers Indika de Saram (Captain), Marvan Atapattu, Upul Chandana, Kumar Sangakkara, Thilan Thushara Mirando and Chanaka Welagedera, experienced and mature cricketers Sanjeewa Weerasinghe, Anil Riddeegammanagedera, Ruvin Peiris, Malintha Gajanayake, Akalanka Ganegama and Tharanga Lakshitha,  and talented youngsters Sachithra Senanayake, Chaminda Vidanapathirana, Chanaka Komasaru and Nisal Randika.

Sri Lanka Test and ODI Cricketer and Level 2 Cricket Coach Naveed Nawaz is the new Head Coach at FICA. He joins FICA fresh from his success having coached SSC to their first Tripe Crown, winning the SLC Premier League and Limited Over Tournaments and the Under 23 Title. His dream run of success continued with the coaching of the Ceylinco Fingara Cricket Team to become Mercantile Cricket Champions.

Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain and technically perfect batsman has joined FICA as its Specialised Batting Coach. He has developed and conducted an Advanced Batting Clinic for Schoolboy Cricketers at FICA during the month of May 2008.

Barry Davison from Kingsgrove Cricket Academy in New South Wales, Sydney had a successful eight week stint at FICA during which time he conducted several indoor and outdoor programmes for FICA students, to help them to improve their standards and achieve better performance levels.
